Adllins Media recently celebrated its one-year anniversary of transitioning to a remote work model. Since October 2023, the specialist marketing agency has thrived in this flexible setup, enjoying invaluable benefits such as enhanced work-life balance, an expanded talent pool, and the freedom to work from anywhere.
The shift has not only empowered the team to create customised work environments but has also allowed the agency to access the best talent without geographical limitations. By removing physical constraints, Adllins have brought in skilled professionals from across the country, enhancing the team’s expertise and capabilities.
Adllins Media Founding Director Ange Hammacott said the change to a remote operation had been a resounding success.
“Working remotely has opened up tremendous opportunities for both our team and our clients,” she said.
“We can now recruit the best candidates regardless of location and provide our team with flexibility, which is essential for a healthy work-life balance.”
According to Forbes, a study found that remote and hybrid employees were 22 per cent happier than workers in full in-office environments. Hybrid and remote workers also experienced less stress, improved physical and mental health, and saw increases in focus and output.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare found that working from home generally sees greater job satisfaction, with employees feeling a greater sense of autonomy in their roles, as well as companies seeing enhanced use and understanding of technology such as digital collaboration tools and cloud-based software.
Adllins Media’s remote approach enables employees to experience new environments and cultures without sacrificing productivity – in fact, productivity since leaving the traditional office structure has remained consistently higher than before.
The marketing agency, which services clients nationally, now has team members residing in Cairns, Townsville, the Sunshine Coast, and Melbourne, and in 2025 some will venture even further afield.
Digital Team Leader Cassie Cartledge plans to take advantage of this in 2025 and travel Vietnam while continuing to optimise clients’ digital marketing strategies.
“With my husband’s long-service leave coming up, and the innate desire to spend that precious time abroad, working from home opened up the opportunity for us to travel,” she said.
“This gives me the opportunity to explore Japan and Vietnam whilst still being able to deliver the same results for our clientele.”
Working remotely also assists with increasing employee satisfaction. Operations Manager Amy Schultz is enjoying the benefits of not commuting and instead spends that extra time with her one-year-old twins.
“As a first-time mum and a full-time employee, I am so grateful to be able to work from my home,” she said.
“There are an extra two hours in my day, and this extra time allows me to have slow mornings and walk my babies to daycare before starting my workday.”
For Director Ange, the benefits of remote work also extend beyond the boardroom.
“Remote work has given me the ideal opportunity to strike a balance between both worlds – being able to fully commit to both my career and my family was a top priority and drove the need for change in my company,” she said.
“Working remotely has had a profound impact on my work-life balance. It allows me to be present for my little ones for the important moments – sports games, assemblies, and community events – while continuing to thrive in the media industry I love.”
“As we celebrate this milestone, we are excited to continue reaping the advantages of remote work to bring innovative solutions, dedicated support, and diverse perspectives to our clients.”
